The Cutting Room Floor - FoA
« on: February 02, 2014, 03:38:19 am »
I just came across site called the Cutting Room Floor that deals with unused resources in games. Here's the link to the Fate of Atlantis page. Some of it is pretty well known, such as the room on the side of Sophia's office, but some things, like the unused animation frames of Marcus, I didn't know about.

haha!

It's funny because I actually saw Marcus' unused animations in the graphics I extracted from FoA, and I thought "they don't look familiar! I don't remember Marcus looking so casual! Well maybe it's just a short animation and I didn't pay attention to it."

I had never seen the sketches before. I know that Lucasarts were pioneers of using scanned backgrounds (it's hilarious to read the internal papers they published about that, talking about some mysterious "Photoshop" application and "scanner" machine), but I had never actually seen the shitty steches drawn with pens.
